Were you here when I said I was going to craft my way through 2022? And that I was going to send out a monthly update? Hahaha. Well it didn’t exactly go as planned. The year started out very slowly craft wise but finished strong with crafting every day. As for the monthly update, well, being a type A list person, here’s my list of crafts I worked on and/or completed in 2022.
Using my new Silhouette Cameo 4
- Two small paper boxes for my daughters
- Birthday gift bags for three different birthdays (one being space themed)
- Valentine’s heart cut outs for my daughters’ doors
- Jewelry display cards for my mother in law’s jewelry business
- Anniversary card for my husband
- Disney vacation countdown
Embroidery Projects
- Two Dream Enormously embroidery kits from Nel & Jo Crafts
- Christmas Gnome embroidery ornament (kit by Nel & Jo crafts)
- Three Snowflake embroidery ornaments (pattern by Nel & Jo crafts)
Crochet Projects
- Pumpkin Amigurumi (pattern by MevvSan)
- Three Hot pads (one with strips)
- Six Wreath ornaments
- Worked on 1st crochet project: Queen turned King-size blanket
- Stocking (I signed up to be a pattern tester for a crocheted stocking. It had several new to me stitches and was WAY bigger than I expected.)
Other Projects
- Mini Cross stitch rose kit (purchased from my local Hallmark store)
- Adults and Crafts string art (started but didn’t finish)
Projects with my kids
- Small Diamond Dotz projects
- Made candles with my eldest
- Kid bracelets with Halloween beads and pipe cleaners.
- Usborne Magic painting
Projects that are not technically crafts
- Filmed a video on the 2022 Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Club Membership Dream box (not really a craft but it’s something I’m passionate about)
- Painted my master bathroom in June. I wouldn’t call it a “craft” project but it is a project I already had all the supplies for that I finally completed.
When my oldest daughter went back to school in September, I started a series (on Instagram) called “Crafting in the Car” where I use my fringe time (waiting at school pick up or at the bus stop or while one of my children was at an activity) to craft. I post these snippets to my Instagram stories in hopes that it will inspire others to work on something that makes them happy (crafting or something else) instead of doom scrolling their phone.
That’s a wrap on 2022. Not as many crafts completed as I would have liked. But, by the end of the year, I worked on something crafty every single day for 115 days straight. I hope to keep that momentum going in 2023.
